About Us

I am a self-proclaimed “girlie girl”. I love the color pink, polka dots, and pearls. On occasion, you can still catch me with a ribbon in my hair.

After 9 long months of waiting to meet my first born, the day had finally arrived. I was filled with nervousness and excitement. I checked into the hospital and was met with a maternity gown that did not fit, had obviously seen many deliveries before mine (it even had a hole in it), and was in the ugliest print you can imagine. I look back at pictures of those first moments of my son’s life and I can’t help but to see that hideous gown standing out.

I found out that my second child, a girl, was due in the summer of 2006. I decided then that I just wasn’t going to wear that dreadful hospital gown again so I made my own. The end result was a brown and pink polka dotted gown just for me. I headed to the hospital again with nervousness and excitement, but this time…no hideous gown! The doctors and nurses raved about my attire and thought that it was such a cute idea. I knew that many other mothers would share in my distaste for hospital gowns.

This gown is designed to not only be pretty, but also to be functional. The front is open and secures at the top with Velcro and a ribbon tie. The top half of the back is open (got to be accessible for that epidural, right?), but also closes completely for added privacy. This allows the access that doctors need but will keep you a little more covered than the typical gown. It’s also perfect for nursing.

It wasn't long before I realized that patients other than expectant moms were looking to have an alternative to the drab, boring hospital gown. I have had many customers purchase them for outpatient procedures, chemotheraphy treatments, and extended hospital stays. We have even sold to doctor's offices. I just wore one for an outpatient procedure and was so much more comfortable all zipped up in back! So purchase a Girlie Gown for an expectant mom or for anyone in your life that needs a special gown.
